Former Miss Tanzania Wema Sepetu has been sent to jail for seven days after being found guilty of sharing an explicit video contrary to Tanzanian laws.
She will spend a week in prison as she awaits determination of her case, following an appeal filed by one of her lawyers.
A warrant of arrest had been issued against the actress after she failed to attend court sessions as required by the Tanzanian courts. Her lawyer however insisted that she failed to appear for only one court session after she fell ill.
Wema Sepetu’s woes started in October last year after she posted an intimate video with a guy he referred to as her future husband. The video which trended on social media led to her arrest after a few days. She would later be banned by Tanzanian authorities from participating in any film-related activities.
The ban was however lifted after six months .
The once popular actress and Diamond’s ex will have to feast on poorly cooked cabbage in prison till the 24th of June as she awaits the determination of the appeal filed by her lawyers.
