Three suspected Al-Shabaab militants were gunned down in two separate raids in Likoni, Mombasa County today morning by Anti-Terror Police Unit.
Acting regional CID coordinator Paul Leting revealed that the successful raid was executed after acquiring sufficient intelligence leads.
Leting also revealed that the three were planning attacks and were mapping out areas to launch terror attacks when they were gunned down.
Police recovered assorted items including several pistol magazines loaded with live ammunition, dozens of AK47 ammunition, knives, police and KDF uniforms, a grenade and religious books.
A G3 rifle was also recovered and is the one they used to engage the police officers during the raid. Seven other suspects have been put in police custody to aid in investigations.
