According to a message to all consular applicants from the United States Embassy in Nairobi, the US Government does not, at this moment in time, recognize Kenya’s new currency notes.
In a statement, the US Embassy warned any Kenyan wishing to make cash payments at their Nairobi Embassy that they won’t be accepting any new currency notes.
They are required to either use the old currency or credit cards. This is what the statement reads;
