CAPTION: Kandara MP Alice Wahome speaking inside Royal Media Services studios last night.
Kiharu Member of Parliment, Ndindi Nyoro, spent the better part of Sunday night at Citizen TV studios after police officers swooped in on him following an early confrontation with nominated MP Maina Kamanda.
When the police learnt of his whereabouts, they camped outside the premises waiting to arrest Nyoro the moment he stepped out.
On learning about the presence of the police, Nyoro barricaded himself inside the studios, saying he was ready to spend the night at the TV station.
Several legislators showed up at the media house in solidarity with Nyoro and among them was Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome who doubles up as Nyoro’s lawyer.
The staunch William Ruto supporter insisted that her client was innocent and that if he had committed any crime, he would be presented to police the next day.
Alice Wahome- Ndindi’s lawyer: Why is Ndindi being sought after at night? He is not criminal
This kind of games will not work. The constitution allows us freedom of speech and movement #SundayLive@KoinangeJeff

Alice Wahome : Ndindi will sleep here (at Royal Media Services Ltd).
If the police need him, we will present him tomorrow in broad daylight. We will not present him to people we do not know#SundayLive pic.twitter.com/UfkCq8JTgF

It was her remark, however, where she suggested that there apparently exists a “special procedure for arresting MPs” where the speaker must be notified and a letter from the police explaining why the MP is being sought after issued, that soon got her in trouble with Kenyans on Twitter (KOT).
Here is what some of them had to say.
Alice Wahome just told the whole nation that there's a special procedure for arresting members of parliament 😅 That the speaker must be notified and a letter from the police explaining why the MP is being arrested issued. Wau! My criminal Law lecturer needs to refund my fees 🤣!

Alice Wahome Should just stop Misleading Ndindi Nyoro. The law allows the police to arrest anyone without any summon or prior notice.

You learn something new everyday. Now Alice Wahome says there’s a procedure of arresting an MP!
This Kenya will show us things. I thought we were all equal in regards to the rule of law.
Ndindi Nyoro should just comply with the law enforcers and argue his case in court of law

The problem of a having Alice Wahome and Murkomen as your legal advisors is one, they'll advise you to change clothes and shoes instead of facing real facts.#NdindiNyoro chew your own tomatoes.
