Kiharu constituency Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro spent his night behind bars after he was arrested on Monday night during a live TV interview. For starters, a warrant of arrest was issued against the legislator after he caused chaos at a fundraiser in a Catholic church in his constituency.
Nyoro was arrested by the GSU at St. James Cathedral where he was part of the interview alongside Mathioya legislator Peter Kimari and Kangema MP Muturi Kigano.
Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata is the one that pulled strings to see that his colleague is set free. Irungu Kangata stated that Nyoro will not be charged after he secured a deal with state officials.
Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutywambai has stated the he has called off the probe and is waiting for further guidance from the DPP.
