Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko engaged the police in a scuffle at Ikanga airstrip in Voi on Friday.
There was push and pull as officers tried to get him to board the police chopper.
He had been arrested and taken to Voi Police Station before being led to the airstrip.
It is on the runway that all hell broke loose.
A video showed police surrounding the governor in an attempt to cuff him.
However, Sonko resists and shoves them off.
The officers follow him as he tries to move away and they circle him almost immediately.
He almost gets into fisticuffs with one of the officers before his colleagues nudge him away.
At this point, his aides try to break him away from the ring of law enforcers.
There is a heated exchange as officers try to contain the irate Governor.
After two minutes and 32 seconds, Sonko is led away in handcuffs towards the awaiting chopper.

According to EACC, Sonko was waylaid by detectives and nabbed as he attempted to escape at a road block in Voi.
The arrest comes after Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji issued an arrest order against him and other officers in his administration over corruption.
Sonko, however, termed the arrest a political trap laid against him, but said he was ready to deal with it.
