If you are an active social media user, then you definitely know of the famous “Men’s Conference” – the three day event where men from across the world come together and discuss issues that matter to them, and which are often overlooked by society.
That date is February 14, which coincides with Valentine’s Day – the universally declared day of love, but which men claim women have lately turned into their second birthdays.
Men feel that the responsibility to make the day special in a relationship has been left solely on their shoulders; and so it is always no surprise running into a man in a sweaty suit sprinting across town carrying a bouquet of flowers, chocolate and apples towards his better half’s place of work on this day.
And so, since 2019, the men came prepared: enter stage left, the much publicized (and non-existent) ‘Men’s Conference.’
In Kenya, the event is well so well choreographed that even a program is released; complete with a Masters of Ceremony (M.C), Keynote speakers and agenda.
This year, it looks like the conference is going to be lit. With new keynote speakers such as Denis Okari and Steve Ogolla expected to make their debut appearances where they will discuss toxic relationships and marriage.
City Layer Steve Ogolla: He recently attracted ridicule after he sent over half a million to his Facebook “lover” without having ever met her physically.
Apart from the exciting list of new speakers, organizers have also announced that this year, men will be given a double treat; 6 full days instead of the usual three.
The screengrab doing rounds online also claims that Boychild President Cyprian Nyakundi is expected at the February event, where he will lead the conversation on “modern day prostitution”.
NTV presenter Ken Mijungu, whose recent clap-back at K24 TV anchor Betty Kyallo for failing to acknowledge her ex-partner Dennis Okari’s role in their daughters life set Twitter ablaze, will help gentlemen tackle the controversial “bro code” topic.
