A 27-year-old woman is nursing injuries in a private hospital in Mwea, Kirinyaga County after her husband burnt her for cooking for him rice instead of githeri.
According the woman’s aunt, 32-year-old Peter Ngugi got angry after being served rice rather than githeri and threw a burning stove at his wife.
Area OCPD Lucas Chebet said the suspect is being hunted by the police and once arrested will eb arraigned in court.
The pair have been married for two years and are blessed with two children.
