King Kaka
Music flourishes in times of protest and already, a slew of protest songs condemning bad leadership have begun to come up.
Recently Eric Wainaina released a song bashing Nairobi Governor Sonko and other politicians’ ills.
Few artists are as open about their political stances as King Kaka.
The award-winning rapper also known as Kennedy Ombima decided to lend his voice to the resistance by releasing a song dubbed “Wajinga Nyinyi “.
More a rant than a song, the Eastlando elusive rapper’s raw song that dropped didn’t shy away from mentions in its six minutes and fifty-seven seconds of searing political analysis while making references to corruption.
“Ati Waiguru ako kwa office na story ya NYS tulishasahau Biro moja alibuy 8 thao Biro tunanunuanga mbao” he spits .
Not only is its fiery lyricism something to behold, but the messages behind the song provides a massive wake up call.
His scathing words will become a backbone for the Kenyan society.
