A band of robbers on Friday, December 18, broke into Magarini MP Michael Kingi’s house and made away with items of unknown value.
The robbers are said to have raided the house at around 11 am after demolishing the door to gain entry. They are said to have made away with cutlery including plates, cups, cooking pots, and others utensils.
Sources indicate that they also carted away mattresses, beds, cooking gas and other household goods.
It is was reported that the thugs laid their hands on anything they could carry after being unable to move heavy objects like beds, cupboards and seats.
“I don’t understand what their motive was because they made away with very interesting items. I think their mission was to wipe the house clean, but time did not allow them,” Kingi stated.
Kingi expressed his gratitude to officers in Malindi who acted swiftly after they were alerted of the robbery incident.
“I have resided in that house and I have never seen anything like that before,” he added.
The raid came just days after Billionaire Manu Chandaria’s home was raided in Muthaiga Estate, Nairobi County.
The gunmen broke into the compound and made away with jewellery of unknown value and Ksh600,0000 in cash.
Investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives revealed that the robbery was a well-executed plan which involved three suspects who are still at large.
A former employee of the security firm is suspected to be part of the scheme.
Police believe that the said suspect could have been behind the tampering of the security alarm on the night of the attack.
