Let me tell you this..
The Millie Mabona you see today, is not an average woman. Or a mere female legislator who jumps from her bed every morning with a single agenda of making noise in the national assembly. She is not a woodpecker, neither is she a chachalaca. She is much better than that.
There are many ways of punishing a woman like Mabona, and making her sad and depressed for a minute or two in case you feel like vomiting out insults. However, we would wish to remind you that calling her barren is not one of them. That woman has grown a tough skin over her childlessness over the years.
She no longer gives an ear to such thoughtless insults. If you called her thick, she might take in with great panic because she has a measurable control over that.
But woe unto you who you who finds it pleasurable to make a mockery out of a God -given condition. My grandmother taught me a million things do in this small world , and mocking people who are born differently was not one of them.
There are many young couples in this country Kenya. They have been in marriage for averagely 7 to 9 years, Others even ten.We see them crawl on their knees and in prayers every Sunday in our local churches, praying to Almighty Father to bless them with babies. We also see them seeking medical responses in our clinics every Friday morning.
So when you mock Mabona for her inability to conceive, and her incapacity to pump out a bouncing baby boy as some of you out here have, then you must know that you are not addressing Millie. You are not doing any harm to that woman . It’s her status, she got married tens of years ago, and for the length of time l have known her, she accepted that long time ago.And she is living good with it. But you are making a joke out of millions of people out there, who are in the same status and are embarrassed to talk about it. These are the women who hide their faces at the sight of their mother-in-laws.You have made them doubt whether they surely deserve to be called women. Your act is that evil.
So we have to remind that your act was a very backward behavior. Yours is a culture that seeks to condemn and enslave individuals born differently in the society , is not a culture that is worth holding. It deserves to die, because this life is not a linear path!
