Joseph Kinuthia popularly known as Omosh, is one of the greatest actors Kenya has ever had. He is one of the pioneers of the popular Tahidi High show that airs on Citizen Tv, where he used to act as a cleaner before alcoholism took control of his life.
The talented actor has battled with alcoholism for over 20 years. He recently revealed in an emotional interview how drinking ruined his high flying career and left him without friends.
” I started experimenting with alcohol when i was still a teenager in Nyeri County due to peer pressure and the fact that most of my relatives were drunkards. I used to drink 10 beers on a daily basis without feeling any impact, when i was still an actor with Tahidi High. With time i graduated to sourcing for cheap hard liquor daily with or without money,” narrated Omosh.
He further revealed that as a public figure he used to frequent parties, functions and clubs upon invitation by friends who offered free drinks. Unfortunately, all the friends disappeared when things started falling apart.
After battling with alcoholism for more than two decades, he finally decided to go to rehab for three months, where he underwent treatment and counselling to become what he is today.
” I willingly took myself to rehab where i underwent treatment and counselling for three months. During the entire period i focused on my life, family, future and realised the need to change,” said Omosh.
