Gospel artiste Evelyne Wanjiru of the Mungu Mkuu hit has opened up on her weight loss journey that started at the tender age of 16 years.
Evelyne Wanjiru’s case might just be an inspiration to hundreds of women who struggle to lose weight. Its actually not an easy journey as most people think.
The award-winning singer revealed on her Instagram page about her weight loss journey that inspired her to release the song called ‘Waweza’. The song was an appreciation to God for seeing her through the ‘cruel’ weight loss journey that left her paralyzed.
Here is her story.
I tried to lose weight by exercising using a roller when I was 16 years because I wanted to fit in. At one point my legs became paralyzed. I used to read the Bible while in hospital but I still felt like my life had ended because I could not do anything for myself.
If you use the roller the wrong way it can kill your nerves. That is exactly what happened to me as all my back nerves died. I had to undergo physiotherapy for a year. It was just a miracle that I recovered. That is why I did my song Waweza.
Despite her tribulations, the singer has managed to maintain a perfect shape. She has also won several awards for her hit songs such as Mungu Mkuu, Tulia, Niongoze, Hossana and Waweza.
