Lawyer Steve Ogolla
Renowned city lawyer and legal analyst Steve Ogolla has been left devasted and found himself lulled into a false sense of security by his grand romantic gestures and flowery declarations of love after revealing how he was conned of Ksh 500,000 by his online lover.
Having spent his time lonely, Ogola decided to look for love online and reached out to a woman known as DORKAS SARKOZY on Facebook and thought he had met the love of his life.
Being a romantic ‘ Jaluo ‘, he started to send her gifts and money to make his love interest happy.
The whirlwind online romance between Lawyer Ogolla and Dorkas was all conducted on WhatsApp as their conversation switched gears between declarations of love, sex talk, and insistent requests for gifts and money.
After ‘dating’ for some time, two went ahead and started to plan for a grand wedding, with Ogolla not knowing that what began as a storybook romance will turn into a real-life nightmare.
He was not savvy enough to be able to pick up the red flags because he was love-struck.
Ogolla became suspicious when the lady hesitated to meet him and requested them to keep their relationship private.
At one time he composed a powerful poem for her and published it on Facebook but the lady ordered him to pull it down.
Here is the romantic poem:
Dee,
Let it be known to you:
That you are the best, above the rest.
The finest among the fairest.
A true daughter of your mother.
And a perfect scion of your father.
You are not just close to my heart.
You are at the inner centre.
Your love is magical and magnetic.
Truly, beyond you, there can be no other.
I love you with all my strength.
And to the last breath.
Grace and Blessings.
Happiness and gladness.
To you, and to us.
After conning him in excess of not less than Sh500K in cash, excluding the gifts, the con woman cut off contact and disappeared from the internet.
He narrated his ordeal after former Raila Odinga personal Assistant Silas Jakakimba took it to his Facebook wall to ask if anyone knew DORKAS SARKOZY.
As a result, other Kenyans narrated how they have fell victims to Dorkas.
