Deputy President William Ruto’s point man Dennis Itumbi has been taken to court for neglecting a 2 months old baby he fathered.
The child’s mother claims that Itumbi deserted his parental duties since the birth of the baby and has never bothered to provide her with any form of assistance.
In a suit filed by her lawyer, the young mother is seeking Ksh 50,000 monthly allowance to purposefully cater for food, clothing, medicine and househelp salary. She is also seeking the court’s assistance to have Itumbi provide his national identity card so that his name can be included in the baby’s birth certificate.
The lady furthered stated that she got into an intimate relationship with Itumbi between January and August last year, but the relationship prematurely ended after she told Itumbi that she was carrying his child. Shockingly, Itumbi allegedly tried to convince her to terminate the pregnancy.
“He ended the relationship in August 2018 after the lady informed him that she was pregnant with his child. Itumbi has since blocked her and she is unable to engage with him on any meaningful communication regarding the welfare of the minor,” read part of the suit filed by the lady’s lawyer Dulo.
Dennis Itumbi has however not responded to the allegations. The case will be heard on the 26th of September 2019.
