Popular comedian and radio presenter Jalang’o has launched his own record label called Heavy J Music.
The comedian took to his Instagram to announce the good news, citing that he was prompted by the desire to give upcoming artists the necessary support and platform to showcase their talents in a bigger and better platform.
“Kenyan music is going through an interesting time, a time of growth and a time of prosperity. This is the time to give the artists what they deserve! From the time I started working with Masauti, I learnt that there are many artists out there who are talented but lack support. This is the opportunity. The opportunity is @heavyjmusic the new and latest music label in town! Follow @heavyjmusic as we unveil our first signed artist. Please tag some talented artists that we should consider in this journey,” wrote Jalang’o.
Jalang’o has been an instrumental figure in the success and growth of talented comedians and musicians such as Masauti and Otile Brown who are receiving massive airplay across East Africa.
