Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has found herself in a compromising situation after photos showing the deplorable condition of Kerugoya Hospital made rounds on social media.
The photos show patients’ dirty garments scattered all over the floor while medical waste dumped recklessly.
Waiguru sacked 346 casual workers health workers under controversial circumstances, and now the hospital is going through the worst of nightmares.
Word is that some nurses have contracted hepatitis B and diarrhea for working in such unhygienic conditions.
The condition of the hospital has forced other leaders, including Kerugoya Women Rep Wangui Ngirici to request the Governor to re-hire the sack workers in order to save the hospital or else face industrial injunction.
