A 40 years old Purity Muthoni has hanged herself after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The mother of two committed suicide at her sisters home in Kasarani estate after she learnt that she was suffering from breast cancer.
Joyce Wangui, the neighbor to Muthoni’s sister said that the deceased had was undergoing treatment at her local hospital in Ol Kolou, Nakuru County where she was misdiagnosed. She then went ahead to Kenyatta National Hospital where the final blow was delivered after a couple of diagnosis.
“She waited until the sister had gone to work before hanging herself. She told some friends that she did not want to undergo the kind pain cancer patients go through,” Ms Joyce said.
According to Muthoni’s sister, the deceased had health complications since last year and after recieving the results she fell into depression.
“It seems like she was planning her death. A week ago she told us to take care of the children since it was only God who knew the kind of pain she was undergoing,” said the emotional sister.
The former area Mp has attributed the increase in cases of cancer due to bad lifestyle choices such as consuming dairy products with high chemical residue.
